What the integration actually solves
Payment links on invoices
A Modulario invoice carries a Stripe payment link in addition to the QR code. The customer pays by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay without signing in.
Subscriptions and recurring billing
For SaaS and retainer services, Modulario issues monthly/annual invoices and Stripe charges the saved card. Failed payments trigger the dunning flow.
Refunds and credit notes
When a credit note is issued in Modulario, the Stripe API performs a refund to the original payment method. The status is reflected on the customer record.
SEPA Direct Debit for EU customers
SEPA mandates are collected via Stripe Checkout; collection then runs automatically per the billing cycle.

- 1 In the Stripe Dashboard go to Developers → API Keys and create a Restricted API key with the needed scopes (charges, customers, refunds, payment_intents).
- 2 In Modulario, open Settings → Integrations → Stripe and paste the Publishable key and Restricted key.
- 3 Configure the webhook URL (Modulario generates it) and add it to Stripe → Webhooks for payment_intent.succeeded, charge.refunded, invoice.payment_failed events.
- 4 Pick the default currency (EUR) and payment methods (card, apple_pay, google_pay, sepa_debit).
- 5 Test a payment with the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 and verify the webhook call.

Frequently asked questions
What fees does Stripe charge?
Standard European pricing is 1.4% + EUR 0.25 for EU cards and 2.9% + EUR 0.25 for non-EU. Modulario adds no surcharge on top of Stripe fees.
Is Stripe available for SK/CZ companies?
Yes — Stripe officially supports SK and CZ since 2021. A valid IBAN and VAT ID are required to open an account.
Do you support Stripe Connect for platforms (marketplace)?
Yes — for platform scenarios (split payments, vendor payouts) we can deploy Stripe Connect — requires separate setup.
How is a Stripe payment posted in Pohoda / Money S3?
Modulario passes the Stripe payment as a payment with a note on fees. The Stripe fee is posted as a financial cost.
